January 2026, Bearing Witness #4

January 2026, Bearing Witness #4 –

Finally, it’s important to bear witness to others. When we tell people some of what God has done, when we proclaim aloud the Lord’s wonderful works, it can encourage others and it can encourage us too.

We have to be careful, though.

-We must never betray a confidence and tell someone else’s story, even to help another person.

-We must never stretch the truth and say that God has done something which has not actually happened.

-We must never use a testimony to try to make ourselves look good or to try to build our ministry.

-We must never use a testimony to insert ourselves into a narrative. If a person is trying to tell us about a problem, let’s not jump in with “Oh, I had a similar situation! Let me tell you what happened…”

Please contact me if you have questions about what I’ve said here; I always enjoy hearing from you. Mary.Brown@SilenceBrokenNow.org.
