As we work to support survivors of childhood sexual abuse, let’s be confident and certain that God offers us all freedom, through truth, to grow, heal, choose, and become whole. Each of us—including survivors—can be free from the control of evil, free from the power of sin, free from having our destiny determined by other people’s choices. Each survivor can be free to make their own choices; supporters must proclaim and encourage this freedom.

As supporters, we can help others be free by walking in freedom ourselves. This freedom comes as a result of our daily decisions to choose to walk in love with God. It is ours and no one can take it from us. Even when we make a mistake (and we all do), our next decision can be to turn back to God. Repeatedly, gladly, freely.
